2024/01/27 - Try a Bike #2 (High Support)

You Can Ride 2 (YCR2) is hosting a Try a Bike Day #2 event on Saturday January 27, 2024, and we would really appreciate your help with volunteering to make the event run smoothly! AM shifts will run from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. PM shifts will run from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. There is a lunch break in between shifts, and orientation for all positions will be provided. Note: Families who volunteer for this event will have their $75 Rental Fee refunded after completing of an ~4-hour shift. You can have someone volunteer on your behalf! When you sign in, indicate which child you are volunteering on behalf of. Location: The Goodwill Impact Center, 11415-168 St NW Edmonton. Masks are required for all adults during the AM shift. Masking is optional in the PM shift. We will supply hand sanitizer. Please contact info@youcanride2.ca if you have any symptoms. There are additional shifts available on Friday Jan 26, and Sunday Jan 28, if you are available. Greeters help welcome families and explain the bike trial process, and may perform other tasks as needed. Orientation will be provided.

Sat Jan 27 - Therapist, Bike Trials (AM Shift)

Therapists help children be fit to their assigned bike and ensure it is safe and fun to ride. Children are eligible for specific bikes based on their functional skills and level of mobility. Training will be provided, though for this event, previous bike fitting experience is required. It is recommended that Therapists review the documents prior to the Fitting day and contact janine@youcanride2.ca with any questions. These documents will be attached to your confirmation email.

Sat Jan 27 - Cleanup Shift (PM Shift)

After two days of Try a Bike, we'll need help in stowing our bikes, tools, and tables. Must be able to lift tables and chairs, sweep, and perform other physical tasks. You will be credited for a full 4-hour shift even though setting up is a 2-3-hour shift.
