You Can Ride 2 Volunteer Signup

2022/10/15 Bike return day 2 (high support bikes)

October 1, 2022 is the start of our Fall Bike Return days! Clients who have borrowed an adaptive bike for the summer season will be returning bikes, and we need your help to make it happen. On October 15, clients who have borrowed "high support" bikes (Freedom Concepts, Rifton, Trivel, etc.) will be returning their bikes. Morning shifts will run from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Afternoon shifts will run from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM. There is a break in between shifts, and orientation for all positions will be provided. (Setup shifts are different; see below.) Location of event: The Goodwill Impact Center, 11415-168 St NW Edmonton. If you are an able-bodied volunteer, please park along 114 Avenue so that the families can park closer to the event space for drop off. As always, we at You Can Ride 2 (and the families) really appreciate your help and we look forward to seeing you on one of the volunteer days!

(Evening Before) Setup

(Day before the event) Help set up the tables, power cords, paperwork, and signage the night before the event. Must be able to lift tables and chairs, sweep, and perform other physical tasks. You will be credited for a full 4-hour shift even though setting up is a 2-hour shift.

Mechanics need to perform quick assessments on each bike as it's returned, and sort them into various categories based on the amount of repairs and maintenance they'll need. Experience working with bicycle repair is required for this role.
